Healthy lifestyle strategies- Conscious consumption

Conscious consumption…. follow your heart, follow your dreams, follow what your body tells you. You need. I believe that we have been gifted with this incredible living, breathing, dynamic machine… our bodies, our temple, our guru, and our teacher.

Much of life’s information can be given to us through our relationship with our bodies, the body knows when we are stressed, it knows when we are happy, it knows when we are in love…it knows if we are not balanced and activities inside and outside our bodies are not in alignment.

We are not taught in the west to trust our intuition we are actually taught to be come dependent on out side sources to provide us with guidance and direction we need to stay alive. This does not have to be the case, as we step into the explorations of self care, self love, self actualization, we begin to understand that all the answers are within, this information becomes easier and easier to access as we truly begin to honor the temple, honor the teacher. The Human Body.  Stepping into the understandings of how our decision with the foods we put into our bodies impact everything, understanding where the food we ingest comes from empowers us, to honor the land and all those who have helped to bring us this nourishment creates honor and reverence for that power greater than ourselves. Being conscious of what we consume brings a new level of involvement to our evolution, it makes us vibrant and passionate about whom we are and how we want to live.

The practice of conscious consumption can begin simply, ask where your food comes from, is the food coming from a source that feels in alignment with our belief in our self care, is the food being prepared with the same level of care that we care for ourselves.

Simple suggestion: Drink lots of good pure water, take your weight and divide that number in half, then convert that number into ounces, this is the suggested minimum amount of water you should drink each day, if you are detoxing or actively working out, drink more, many people are dehydrated…good water provides us with minerals.
